Happy Birthday Cellphoning; First call was made today 4 decades ago

Yes, you read the title right. It was April 3 perfectly four decades ago when the first call from a cell phone was made. In these 40 years the mobile industry has seen rapid changes and the foremost is the metamorphosis of monster handsets to pocket-sized portable smartphones, rather super smartphones.

Martin Cooper was the first person to make a call from a cell phone. He is the former Motorola vice president and division manager. Forty years ago he made a cell phone call on DynaTAC phone of the company standing on Sixth Avenue in front of the New York Hilton. He phoned to Bell Labs' head of research. In those days Bell Labs was also attempting to build up first cell phone.
