Apple on the other hand is so always the leader in tablet market but the arrival of iPad 4 too soon puts a question mark on its sales performance. Also, analysts say the new iPad is just a modest update over the iPad 3.
Let us compare both the tablets briefly.
Size and build
HP Slate 7 measures 197.1 X 116.1 X 10.7 mm where as the dimension of Apple's iPad 4 is 242.8 X 189.7 X 13.4 mm. The Slate weighs just 372 grams and the iPad 4 tablet is almost double to 652 grams.
Screen
HP Slate 7 sports 7-inch IPS display and provides a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels where as the Apple's iPad 4 boasts Retina display similar to the iPad 3 and it provides a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It sports 9.7-inch screen.
Processor
HP Slate 7 is powered by Cortex-A9 1.6GHz dual-core processor and the iPad 4 is equipped with a dual-core 1.4GHz chipset (Apple A6X) processor and PowerVR SGX543MP4 (quad-core graphics).
Operating system
HP Slate 7 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and the Apple's iPad 4 comes out of the box with iOS 6 but it is upgradeable to iOS 6.1.3.
Camera
HP Slate 7 is mounted with 3.2MP rear camera and 0.3M VGA front camera. The Apple's iPad 5 is equipped with 5MP rear camera and 1.2MP front camera.
Memory
HP Slate 7 comes with 8GB of internal storage and it supports up to 32GB of external memory with the help of microSD card. The Apple's iPad comes in three variants in terms of on-board storage - 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. It does not facilitates external memory support.
Verdict
HP Slate comes with Beats Audio support and this is the main USP for the tablet to lure potential customers. As a whole it is not much impressive. Apple's iPad 4 on the other hand is just an update of the predecessor and not a killer upgrade. So, analysts are suggesting iPad Mini is better to buy than the iPad 4.
