Review: BlackBerry Q10

BlackBerry Q10 is first BB10-based smartphone with physical keyboard. Let us find out what are the strong aspects of the phone.

Design

The BlackBerry Q10 is in all-black with buttons at the bottom similar to BlackBerry Curve or BlackBerry Bold smartphones. It is like a familiar friend. It has classic flat shape equipped with softly rounded edges. It sports 3.1-inch screen and comes with treated aluminum metal, not plastic.

Keyboard

This feature is star of the show for BlackBerry Q10. It has 35 keys in full four rows and QWERTY style. The buttons are amply large without much spacing between each other and the company says keys are 30 percent bigger than the keys found on previous models.

Display

Truly it is a new design but less room is given to the screen due to the physical keyboards. The screen measures 3.1 inches and provides a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels. It has wide viewing angles and high contrast due to OLED technology.

Software

BlackBerry Q10 smartphone runs on the latest BlackBerry 10 operating system. It features multitasking and and provides novel ways in retrieving feeds from emails, messages and social-networking.

Camera

The phone is mounted with 8-megapixel rear camera with several features such as HDR mode, TimeShift function and multiple shooting option.

Verdict

The keyboard is superb in BlackBerry Q10 and the message-handling capabilities too have been enhanced. This will be the main USP of the phone.
