Bloomberg reported yesterday Amazon may come up with its own hardware device that will stream video content to the televisions of users and it may be unveiled by this fall to the earliest.
As of now the e-commerce giant provides free streaming video service under its Amazon Price service for an annual fee of $79. The company claims this service is equipped with over 36,000 free movies and TV episodes and about 150,000 tiles made available for buying or renting.
Some of the Prime customers of Amazon are already able to watch its content on their televisions via Internet hookups or else by hookups with Nintendo's Wii U, Microsoft's Xbox, Sony's PlayStation 3 and also via set-top boxes like that of Roku.
It is rumored the Lab126 division of Amazon is working on Kindle TV and is led by former Vudu, TiVo and Apple employees.
In last few years Amazon has seen satisfactory success into hardware forays such as with the Kindle and the Kindle Fire tablet.
