HTC One comes in curved aluminium rear with plastic sides and iPhone 5 has flat aluminium rear, slate and white finishes. In terms of design HTC One gives a good challenge to the iPhone 5. Both are light weight and gives a feel of hard metal. Both look gorgeous. HTC One weighs 143 grams and iPhone 5 weighs just 112 grams, but is a bit taller.
Screen
HTC One comes with 4.7-inch Super LCD3 screen with resolution of 1080p. Apple's iPhone 5 sports 4-inch IPS screen providing a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels.
It is learned from reviews the Super LCD3 is comparable to the IPS of iPhone 5.
CPU & Memory
HTC One comes with 1.7GHz Krait 300 CPU and 2GB RAM. It is equipped with 320 GPU. The iPhone 5 on the other hand has dual-core 1.2GHz Apple's A6 processor and 1GB RAM. It has PowreVR SGX 543MP3 GPU.
Operating System
HTC One is Android based phone where as iPhone 5 iOS based. HTC has powered its One with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and Sense UI interface for better performance. Apple has powered the iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1 operating system.
Camera
HTC One is mounted with 4MP UltraPixel camera where as the iPhone 5 comes with 8MP sensor. Both are equipped with LED flash.
Take note that the 4MP UltraPixel sensor of HTC One gives better performance and can even capture improved pics in low-light.
Verdict
No doubt HTC One gives excellent performance in terms of camera, but iPhone 5's 8MP sensor equipped with camera features also offers competitive results. Besides, the Android Jelly Bean version is the best so far in OS and iOS 6.1 is also the latest from the house of Apple. Design wise both the phones are best in the market. I'd prefer the HTC One anyday. It looks great, has a faster processor, larger display and is available at a slightly cheaper price.
