Galaxy S4 is the latest flagship smartphone of Samsung where as the Galaxy S2 is two generation old device of the Korean giant. The Galaxy S4 has similar design as Galaxy S3, but with smaller edges so as to make the screen wider. On the other hand the Galaxy S2 is simple, elegant and classy.
Samsung Galaxy S4 is available in blue, red, black, white and gray shades where as the Samsung Galaxy S2 comes in just white and black colors.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy S4 sports 5-inch Pentile Super AMOLED screen with resolution of 1080 x 1920 Full HD pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It offers a pixel density of 440ppi.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 on the other hand sports 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen and offers a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Its pixel density is 217ppi and is equipped with first version of Corning Gorilla Glass.
Operating System
Samsung Galaxy S4 runs on the latest Android 4.2.0 operating system where as the Samsung Galaxy S2 comes out of the box with old Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system. However, it is upgradeable to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by 2GHz quad-core Cortex A15 processor and 2GB RAM. In terms of on-board storage it is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 on the other hand is powered by 1.2GHz dual core Cortex A9 processor and 1GB RAM. It comes in two variant - 16GB and 32GB.
Verdict
Of course the Samsung Galaxy S4 is better phone than Galaxy S2 and also it is one of the best smartphones now in the market. However, if you want good phone that cost less than Galaxy S4, the S2 is perfect for you.
