Samsung Nods No To Mozilla's Firefox OS In Its Smartphones

The war to lure the smartphone owners on the basis of operating system is heating up. Mozilla has also jumped into it with its Firefox mobile OS. Well, in last couple of years it is found low and medium budget smartphone means having Android OS. Samsung is the greatest example of it with all the success on its phones and tablets running on Androids. So, does the Korean giant needs to make phone run on the new Firefox OS?

A high level executive of Samsung said at the MWC 2013 event in Barcelona that the company is not interested in the just debuted Firefox OS of Mozilla.


In the Android market Samsung is leading and its new flagship smartphone is on the way to debut on March 14. It too will run on Android.

If Samsung tries its hands on any alternate browser-based OS then it will probably be Tizen. It is also learned the company will launch its first such smartphone based on Tizen in July or August.

Well, Mozilla has meanwhile partnered with few handset manufacturers for its Firefox OS. We may soon see such smartphones coming from Alcatel, ZTE, LG and Huawei. Also, Geeksphone has committed to come up with two smartphones for developers to run on Firefox OS.

According to the company, the two phones dubbed as Geeksphone Peak and Geeksphone Keon will be put on sale its website in coming weeks.
