DAAR Communication Limited, Nigeria's largest news agency and owners of AIT/Ray power station, said its new venture is based on the development of technological manpower in the country to meet the 21st century challenges.
The new satellite DTH will offer some of DAARSAT's most popular program, including live Sports, Documentaries and whole lots Movies.
This service was put on halt soon as it started to improve and make it accessible and affordable for viewers in West Africa. This service is now back again with bigger and better offerings, providing about 40 channels including few dedicated channels to promote major languages of the country.
The three channels that promote three major languages in news, event, documentaries etc are:
1. 5G - Promoting Yoruba Language
2. Dankaaki - Promoting Hausa Language
3. Ogene Ndigbo - Promoting Igbo Language
DAARSAT’s new Direct to Home [DTH] pay-TV offering uses High Definition technology to broadcast the channels. Other channels includes:

To access the services, customers will have to buy a new set-top box or a Digital TV Combo unit that includes the relevant conditional access software and MPEG4 decoder for half the original price 16000 8000. After purchase, customers will sign up through a dealer by paying a monthly subscription to get the service through a conventional decoder/digital TV box.
New customers will pay N1500 to get opportunity to enjoy the three months access to over 40 live streaming channels.
Existing customers are to pay a reactivation fee of N500, which will give them the privilege to enjoy three months subscription.
