Amazon soon to join 10-inch tablet class

Amazon is now eyeing on bigger sized tablet devices. After great success of its first Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD now the retail giant is expected to introduce a larger version of the Kindle Fire, probably a 10 incher.

In November 2011 Amazon launched its 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet device and later in September 2012 it came up with 8.9-inch version.


Now, according to analyst at NPD DisplaySearch, Amazon is moving up to introduce 10.1-inch tablet.

It is learned the display resolution of the screen will be stunning 2560 x 1600 pixels, which means the pixels density will be 300 ppi. If this is so, then it will be denser than that of Apple's Retina display in iPad 4 that boosts 264 ppi. However, it will match the pixels per density of Google Nexus 10 tablet, the highest resolution tablet so far in the market.

Rumor says the mass production of Amazon 10.1-inch tablet will start in third quarter of this year.

Besides all these, it is also speculated Amazon will be refreshing its 7-inch and 8.9-inch Kindle Fires to bring its pixel density to 300 ppi.
