On Thursday the U.S. Department of Defense has approved the BlackBerry devices run on BlackBerry 10 operating system. Apple and Samsung are waiting for such authorization and it is learned in few weeks they too will get the security approval for their i0S and Android-based smartphones and tablets.
This year in February the U.S. Department of Defense said they want to amp up the multitude of smartphones and devices used by its employees. Presently its employees uses around 600,000 mobile devices of which BlackBerry has 470,000 share and 41,000 by Apple. The department said they are going to handle about 8 million devices.
In terms of government contracts BlackBerry had tough times. In October Pentagon had announced of opening up exclusive BlackBerry contract. Simultaneously the Customs Enforcement agency said of dropping BlackBerry for Apple devices.
Well, now it seems the newest BlackBerry devices are able to get back the trust of Department of Defense.
